Metropolis 2020 "Part IV: Land Use and Housing"
This report states that social and economic segregation has increased when it comes to land use. This can be seen all over Chicago. Neighborhood are certainly divided by social and economic status. Even in the UIC area this can be seen. The majority of the Little Italy Area are decently weathly to middle class people. Paying rent in Chicago or owning a place has never been cheap, so in order to live in this area you must have some money. Then there are part of little Ittaly that have recently been town down where very low income families once lived. And then you have all the new devolpment happening on halsted where the people whom are doing quite well for themselves live.
